Consideration-Coupled Array Beamforming Method Based on Modified PSO

In this paper, the particle swarm optimization(PSO) combined with the active element pattern(AEP) array synthesis method is applied to the multi-objective constrained optimization problem of beamforming of antenna arrays for the first time. A modified PSO algorithm is proposed, which fully considers the mutual coupling effect of antenna arrays and can obtain a more accurate beam assignment effect compared with the standard PSO algorithm based FFT. An eight-element linear array model is presented as a real-life example to achieve a low side-lobe level (SLL), flexible pointing and more accurate beamforming, demonstrating the excellent performance of the proposed algorithm.
