Performance Investigation and Realization of an Integrated V-Band Lens Antenna with Low-loss COC Dielectric Materials

This paper presents the design of an integrated V-band (50-75 GHz) dielectric lens antenna featuring a high gain of 30 dBi, utilizing low-loss cyclic olefin copolymer (COC). The study comprehensively compares and analyzes the effects of horn disturbances and integration methods in practical applications. Various materials, thicknesses, and tilt angles for the housing are examined, resulting in different degrees of loss, ultimately leading to the analysis of an optimal scenario. Following fabrication, assembly, and testing, the integrated lens antenna achieves 3 dB beamwidth of 4.79°, a gain of 30.22 dBi at the center frequency of 62.5 GHz, and an aperture efficiency of 53.11%.
