Privacy Mechanisms for Content-Centric Network Protecting Content Names and Content Data

Information-Centric Networks (ICN) seek to transform the existing internet infrastructure by redirecting attention from hosts to data. Preserving individual privacy and safeguarding security is of utmost importance in the field of ICN. ICN caters to the increasing need for distributing content on the Internet, and many methods and platforms have been created to make privacy protection easier. These efforts prioritise both the protection of material and the privacy of users. A notable technological achievement in this field is PrivICN, which improves user Security at the networking by safeguarding the secrecy of content names and data. This study investigates The utilisation of homomorphic encryption to ensure the security of both content names and content data. Homomorphic encryption allows for performing computations on encrypted data without the need for decryption, thereby maintaining data confidentiality and security. Encrypting sensitive data is an efficient method for maintaining privacy. Ensuring privacy in ICN is crucial, and this shift in approach tackles the growing demand for secure and efficient content distribution on the Internet. This paper examines different approaches and platforms that have been created to guarantee privacy in ICN. It specifically focuses on solutions for preserving privacy from both a content-centric and user-centric perspective.
