A Single-Layer 24-GHz Rectifier with Harmonic Enhancement for Wireless Power Transmission

A single-layer $24-\mathrm{GHz}$ rectifier with oc. harmonic impedance at cathode to enhance power conversion efficiency (PCE) is designed in this paper. This rectifier is fabricated in single-layer microstrip using rectifying diode MA4E1317. High power conversion efficiency is achieved by setting the harmonic impedance at the cathode to open. Electro-magnetic (EM) simulation of the microstrip line with copper roughness model is conducted to better predict real performances. Simulation results show that this rectifier can achieve a maximum PCE of 50% at 10 dBm input power with a $\mathbf{1} \mathrm{kOhm}$ DC load resistance.
