Automatic Adjustment of Power Grid Typical Operating Modes Based on Multi-Section Control Method

Typical operating modes refer to the operational states formed by combinations of specified power settings for typical load levels, flood/dry seasons, new energy simultaneity rates, and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission and AC section transmission. The essence of adjusting and generating typical operating modes for power grids is a power flow adjustment problem in large-scale power grids with constraints. Currently, it is difficult to directly achieve power flow adjustment in large-scale and complex power grids through nonlinear programming methods. Therefore, the adjustment and generation of operating modes at this stage still require the collaborative efforts of staff from national, regional, and provincial dispatching centers across different locations. Based on the multi-sectional control method and drawing inspiration from the planned power flow algorithm, this paper proposes an automatic adjustment and generation method for typical operating modes, which can automatically adjust and generate multiple sets of typical operating modes from a single base case. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through practical examples from regional power grids.
