Design and Simulations on a Novel Annular Vibration Isolator Utilizing Piezoelectric Actuators

Vibration control of annular structures is a subject of significant research interest due to its applications in aerospace structures, gears, vehicle axles, and rotating motors. At present, passive and semi-active vibration isolation techniques are predominantly employed to address vibration control in such annular structures. However, these methods face limitations in achieving high-precision control in the low-frequency range. To overcome this limitation, this study presents the design of a novel annular vibration isolator device utilizing piezoelectric actuators, developed to meet the stringent requirements for efficient vibration isolation in annular structures. Static and dynamic simulation analyses verify the isolator's effectiveness in mitigating radial disturbances within the 100-500 Hz frequency range. The results indicate that the radial amplitude attenuation of the device can reach up to 90%.
