Fracture Damage Evolution of Piezoelectric Solids by Phase-Field Modeling

Phase-field modeling (PFM) has been widely used in the field of pure mechanics, but the application in multi-physics coupling fields remains limited due to the complexity of fracture processes in these environments. To address the challenges of fracture in multi-material layered piezoelectric solids within an electromechanical coupling context, this paper employs a phase-field cohesive zone model (PF-CZM) specifically tailored for linear piezoelectric solids. The study investigates fracture evolution in piezoelectric bonded plates subjected to various electric field intensities. Numerical simulations of several representative cases are conducted to verify the accuracy of the electromechanical coupling phase-field model. Additionally, the impact of parameters, such as material properties and interface behavior, on crack evolution is systematically examined.
