A Novel Multi-Directional Piezoelectric Excitation Platform: Design, Analysis and Experiments

In various fields, including mechanical engineering and aerospace, vibration excitation platforms play a crucial role in quality inspection and reliability assessments. As the demand for multidirectional capabilities, integration, and high precision increases, the development of a novel piezoelectric excitation platform has become imperative. A multi-directional piezoelectric excitation platform is designed, analyzed and experimented. First, the proposed platform is designed to consist of four piezoelectric actuators and is equipped with flexure Hook joints. In addition, the proposed platform can excite longitudinal vibration and multi-directional bending vibration, and the operating principle is analyzed by the finite element method. Finally, a prototype was fabricated and the measurement system was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed platform, achieving vibration excitation with a maximum acceleration of 4.17 m/s². This lightweight and compact piezoelectric vibration excitation platform shows great potential for inducing longitudinal and multi-directional bending vibrations.
