Wideband RCS Analysis of Finite Periodic Array in the Vicinity of Object Using Modified SSED-CBFM and Improved FIR

We propose an accurate and efficient method for the wideband analysis of a finite periodic array near an object. It elegantly combines the merits of the modified simplified subentire domain (SSED)-characteristic basis function method (CBFM) and the improved frequency-independent reaction (FIR). It constructs the SSED basis functions on the array cell and CBFs on the object and, thus, obtains the SSED-CBFs-based reduced matrix equation. The improved FIR accelerates the computation of the impedance matrices at each frequency. Our new method keeps high accuracy in the numerical examples while greatly reducing the total CPU time.
