3D-printed Dielectric Resonator Antenna with Omnidirectional Radiation Pattern and Circular Polarization

This article presents the design of a dielectric resonator antenna with an omnidirectional radiation pattern and circular polarization for UAV aplications. The antenna is composed of a dielectric cylinder with two counter-rotating helices to be implemented using 3D-printing technology. Simulation results shows a maximum gain of 2.4 dBi and an axial ratio below 3 dB over the impedance bandwidth of the antenna.
