FIFO Method Implementation on Agricultural Commodities Order Management

PT Ince Jaya Mandiri (Injama) faces problems in the order fulfillment process due to errors and delays in creating the necessary documents, as well as confusion in tracking the status of orders because there is no method used in the order fulfillment process. The main objective of this research is to improve the order fulfillment process. Thus, an appropriate order fulfillment method is needed so that the process can run more structurally and efficiently. To help the order fulfillment process, the First In First Out (FIFO) method is used. The proposed order fulfillment process improvement is a process carried out using an order fulfillment application developed using prototyping. Prototyping consists of several stages, including Communication, Quick Plan and Modeling Quick Design, Construction of Prototype, and Development Delivery & Feedback. Black Box Testing results show that 86% of the tested functions can be accepted by the user. The results exceeded the target by 6% of the minimum target of 80%. Thus, the application of the FIFO method can effectively help the daily order fulfillment process with large quantities and become a solution to errors and delays in document preparation and confusion in tracking the status of orders.
