Systematic Review of Differentiated Instruction Implementation in Higher Education

This research is a systematic literature review exploring the implementations of Differentiated Instruction (DI) in higher education. Differentiated Instruction is a pedagogical approach and focus that aims to tailor teaching approaches and content delivery to the varied learning needs of students. The present study tries to provide an in-detail review of the existing literature on the topic of DI in higher education with specific references to its aims, methods, results, implications or repercussions for educationalists as well as students. A total of 35 relevant studies were found useful for this purpose after making a systematic search of the academic databases in the years from 2012 to 2023. The findings indicate that DI as an instructional practice delivered in the higher education is gradually gaining popularity in improving the engagement, achievement, and retention of learners.
