Structural Design and Mechanical Analysis of a Bionic Hexapod Robot Based on ANSYS

This research project is centered on the structural design and gait analysis of a bionic hexapod ant robot, inspired by the intricate structural features and motion dynamics of real ants. The design process meticulously adheres to the anatomical proportions of ant legs, carefully selecting appropriate dimensions and actuators for each joint of the robot's limbs. Employing SolidWorks software, a faithful 3D prototype of the bionic hexapod robot is crafted, accurately replicating the ant's body contour and meticulously designing the central torso. The robot's six legs are symmetrically arrayed around the torso in an elliptical con-figuration, each leg embodying a two-degree-of-freedom Crank-Rocker mechanism. Leveraging the ANSYS software, a rigorous static analysis is conducted on the robot's torso and leg joints, yielding detailed stress and strain distribution diagrams. These findings substantiate the design's efficacy, and a tangible model is subsequently produced to corroborate the practicality of the design. After comparative analysis, it has been determined that this robot exhibits superior agility and enhanced stability.
