Study of wind turbine adaptability and output characteristics based on turbulence analysis

This paper presents an analysis of turbulence classification and its impact on the safety, suitability, and power output of wind turbines. Wind measurement data from a Wind Power Project is selected for assessing effective turbulence intensity at each turbine location using turbulence analysis methods. Furthermore, the influence of terrain complexity and the Wöhler index on evaluating effective turbulence is examined, along with an evaluation of how turbulence affects power generation capacity. The findings demonstrate that increased effective turbulence significantly affects power generation at wind turbine locations. Moreover, under complex terrain conditions, effective turbulence has a more pronounced effect on turbine safety and output characteristics. Therefore, considering the impact of effective turbulence in CFD fluid modeling for wind farms situated in complex terrain is crucial. The conclusions drawn from these assessments are essential for accurate simulation of power generation and selection of suitable turbines.
