Method for Constructing a Radar Local Navigation System for a Tethered High-Altitude Module in the 800 MHz - 5.8 GHz Band

This paper considers a method for constructing a semi-active radar system for local navigation of a tethered highaltitude module operating in the microwave frequency range (800 MHz – 5.8 GHz). A distinctive feature of the proposed system is the ability to easily adjust the frequency within the operating range, which makes it possible to seal the frequency grid and significantly improve electromagnetic compatibility with other wireless communication devices, which is especially important when using a tethered high-altitude telecommunications module. The paper describes the technical features of constructing goniometer systems and presents the practical results of constructing a radar beacon of one of these systems.
