Review of Ground Test Methods and Techniques of Space Motion Mechanism

Space motion mechanism is the key component of satellite, spacecraft and space station and other spacecraft, which plays a decisive role in mission reliability and life of spacecraft. The function of space mechanism is complex and the environment condition is special. The main means of design verification is to carry out ground simulation test in the development process. In this paper, based on the needs analysis of ground verification for space motion mechanism, the requirements of verification tests are discussed. In addition, the general situation of the verification tests for typical space mechanisms such as the restrain-release mechanism for SAOCOM, Hexapod Linear Actuator (HLA) for the Athena and robotic arm joint mechanism for China Space Station are described in detail. Finally, according to the application and development needs of the space motion mechanism in the future, the relevant key test technologies are summarized, and the further research content is also discussed, which can provide support for the development of the test methods and technologies of the space motion mechanism.
