Fast Spectral Kurtosis Technique and its Application for Gearbox Fault Diagnosis

Because of the complexity of the motion of the gearbox, the vibration signal components are complex, and the amplitude and frequency modulation are very serious. However, the early fault characteristics are covered up or affected by the vibration response of other movements because they are very weak. Therefore, it is very difficult to separate the fault characteristic information directly from the original signal. To solve this problem, the fast spectral kurtosis technique introduced in this paper can enhance the weak signal and identify the early fault.
