Research on the Method of Recognizing Book Titles Based on Paddle OCR

This article explores the book title recognition method based on Paddle OCR. Utilizing the Baidu AI Studio platform and Paddle OCR tool, an effective book title recognition scheme is proposed. This scheme employs the PP- OCRv4 model, combined with text detection based on the Differentiable Binarization algorithm and a text recognition model based on the SVTR_LCNet lightweight text recognition network, to achieve effective recognition of book titles. To enhance the generalization ability of the model, this paper investigates image enhancement methods such as random rotation, random flipping, and adjusting image contrast and brightness. After data augmentation, the accuracy of model recognition has been improved. In the data preprocessing stage, steps such as grayscale transformation and bilateral filtering are employed to reduce invalid information in the image and enhance the prediction efficiency of the model.
