Design and Implementation of Portable and Re-configurable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) Detection Radar Based on ADRV9040 and MPSoC

A portable and re-configurable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) detection Radar with battlefield as the main usage environment was designed and implemented using the ADRV9040 broadband transceiver chip and the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC chip as the core hardware.The system consists of a host computer and a Radar front-end, which are connected by optical fiber. The Radar front-end is composed of an MPSoC motherboard, an ADRV9040 RF sub-board, T/R components and phased array antenna. The system can be used to detect low, slow and small targets such as DJI Phantom 4 UAV within a range of 300 meters to 2000 meters. The experimental results show that it has a high detection probability and range measurement accuracy.
