Natural Disaster Aid Platform: Increasing the Rate of Victim Survival

The occurrences of natural disasters have significantly increased over the past 15 years, badly affecting many people. In order to efficiently and effectively detect victims of natural disasters, the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology can be applied. GPS is a radio wave receiver that can be used for the purpose of mapping and sensing. This present research embedded the GPS technology into a mobile application called Natural Disaster Aid Platform (NaDi-AP). Having this kind of tool will help the victims that are in danger, especially during the monsoon season or any other natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, and flash floods. NaDi-AP aims to improve the search and rescue response time and increases the victim survival rate by taking into account the victim’s prioritization and technology utilization using GPS. The SOSCast programme is also utilized in the mobile application to ease the victims to send their SOS messages. It is designed and implemented to allow victims send those messages by speaking straight to their smartphones with minimal effort. This research applied 3 stages of prototype model as the system development methodology since it offers clients an early impression of the project while incorporating their feedback into the final design. Usability testing was conducted by evaluating the demographic, system features, use/efficiency, and usefulness/satisfaction elements. Based on the findings, about $53.3 \%$ to $86.7 \%$ of the participants strongly agreed that NaDi AP is a well-developed system that encompassed the need of SOS, shelter finder, and necessities support in one platform. It was also found that $\mathrm{NaDi-AP}$ can become a rescue application not only for natural disasters, but also other rescuing missions.
