Design of a 32-Bit ALU Using Cadence tools

He design and optimization of a 32-bit Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) using Verilog HDL is a complex process that focuses on enhancing efficiency while managing resource constraints. Utilizing state-of-the-art Cadence tools for design and implementation ensures precision and reliability. The ALU design includes 25 operations, consisting of 12 arithmetic and 13 logical operations. Key algorithms such as the Booth multiplier for multiplication, carry look-ahead adder for addition, and restoring algorithm for division are employed for functional verification. Functional simulation is performed through NC-launch, and circuit optimization in terms of area and power is conducted at the logic level using the Genus tool, while layout is done using Innovus. Timing reports of various operations are analyzed for optimal performance.
