Human-Machine Coupling Model Simulation for Wheelchair Posture Adjustment in OpenSim

To address the issues of insufficient comfort for the elderly and disabled when using wheelchairs, as well as the potential safety hazards associated with wheelchair posture adjustment experiments, this paper establishes a human-machine coupling model to study the interaction forces between human and wheelchair during the wheelchair posture change process. We collect experimental data on the movement posture and human-machine interaction forces as subjects passively transition from a sitting position to a lying position in a wheelchair. The wheelchair used in the experiments is modeled and simplified, and a coupling model of the human body and wheelchair is constructed within the OpenSim software environment. The collected data are tracked and simulated using Moco, and the simulation results are compared and analyzed against the experimental data. We verify the accuracy and reliability of the established human-machine coupling model.
