Design of Reusable VIP(Verification IP) of AXI Master and Slave in UVM

This paper presents the design and development of a reusable Verification Intellectual Property (VIP) for AXI (Advanced Extensible Interface) Master and Slave interfaces using the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM). The VIP is architected to be highly configurable, enabling it to be adapted to a wide range of AXI-based designs and verification environ-ments. The results demonstrate that the AXI VIP successfully supports a wide range of AXI configurations, including various burst modes, data widths, and transaction types. The reusable components-such as the AXI master and slave agents, sequence libraries, and coverage models-proved effective in reducing the verification cycle time across multiple projects including Multi master and Multi slave using a multi variant of AMBA AXI Lite and AXI-MM with UVM provides better results in terms of coverage, agents, reusability and reconfigurability.
