An Efficient Beam Pointing Algorithm for Low Earth Orbit Satellite Payload Phased Array Antenna

A beam pointing algorithm for Low Earth Orbit payload phased array antenna is proposed in this paper. The beam pointing algorithm embedded in the Payload Data Management Center only considers the influence of the Earth rotation. While the other influence actors such as polar shift, precession and nutation, are calculated in the ground management station, then the calculation result is sent to the satellite at a certain intervals. The algorithm is simple and efficient, and can effectively reduce the consumption of satellite computation resources. And the algorithm has been verified in orbit and can be extended to other satellite-to-satellite or satellite-to-ground communication systems.
