Data Analysis of Mechanical Properties of Steel Specimens Under Four-point Bending Load

In order to investigate the bending resistance of a newly developed steel and to obtain comprehensive data characterizing its mechanical properties, this study proposes a solution that employs modeling and numerical calculations. Specifically, the solution consists of three parts. First, tensile specimens are prepared, and a universal mechanical testing machine is utilized to obtain stress-strain data. Second, a four-point bending loading model is established, and load parameters are defined. Finally, in conjunction with the simulation results, an in-depth analysis of the bending resistance of the steel is conducted. The findings indicate that the newly developed steel exhibits excellent bending resistance, deforming by 3 mm under an external load of 1308 N (single pressure head). Compared to traditional four-point bending tests, the research approach presented in this paper yields more extensive data. Furthermore, it reduces experimental costs and shortens testing time. This methodology has significant potential for application in the mechanical bending performance testing of newly developed materials.
