Damage Efficiency Analysis of Continuous Metal Jet Based on Shaped Charge Effect

The high-velocity metal jet generated by the energy gathering effect has a strong destructive effect on the target. The basic properties of metal jet generated by the explosion of shaped charge is described and the damage mechanism of metal jet on target is exposited. Besides, the theoretical model of continuous metal jet penetration into the target is established. The penetration results of metal jets under different conditions are simulated with the theoretical model. It is found that the speed gradient, shape, and explosion height of the metal jet have a significant impact on penetration depth and diameter. The greater the velocity gradient of the metal jet, the greater the penetration depth and the smaller the penetration diameter. The cylindrical metal jet brings a larger penetration diameter on the target surface, but the penetration diameter decreases significantly as the penetration depth increases. The conical metal jet with a diameter difference between the head and tail brings a smaller difference in penetration diameter on the target surface. The difference in the penetration volume of the target penetrated by the two different kinds of metal jets is relatively small. The penetration depth and diameter under different explosion height are simulated theoretically. The results show that explosion height effects penetration depth and diameter significantly, which is consistent with previous research.
