A High-precision Range Estimation Method for FMCW Radar

This paper presents a signal processing algorithm for FMCW radar. An improved CZT distance estimation method based on spectrum interpolation factor of Rife algorithm is proposed. By using the result of the Rife algorithm to determine the spectrum refinement range of CZT, the range of spectrum refinement is further reduced and higher precision of target range estimation can be achieved. The simulation results show that the proposed method has good anti-noise performance, and the average ranging accuracy is nearly doubled compared with the original CZT estimation method.
