Comprehensive Analysis of Domestic Energy Consumption Using Python and Matplotlib

Inefficient energy consumption is a global issue, with domestic energy usage rising consistently in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, India, due to population growth and lack of awareness about proper energy use, leading to significant waste. This research utilizes Python and Matplotlib to thoroughly examine household energy consumption. It evaluates the financial and environmental benefits of using energy-efficient household equipment. The study estimates daily energy savings, cost savings, and the payback period for the investment in new appliances. With an anticipated payback period of 1.77 years, the results show substantial savings in energy usage and expenses. The report highlights environmental advantages such as reduced greenhouse gas emissions. By promoting the adoption of energy-efficient devices, this research aims to educate consumers and support regulatory initiatives to enhance sustainability.By replacing old devices, substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions (4838 $\mathrm{kg} \mathrm{CO} 2 / \mathrm{year}$) and electricity costs are achieved.
