Range and Angle Estimation for Multi-Carrier FDA Radar with a Single Snapshot via ADMM

The multi-carrier frequency diverse array (FDA) radar enables accurate range and angle estimation with a single snapshot by employing the atomic norm minimization (ANM) method. However, solving the corresponding optimization problem with conventional CVX convex optimization toolbox is computationally demanding. To cope with this, in this paper, we develop and derive an implementation of the ANM method using the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) for the multi-carrier FDA. This approach decomposes the optimization problem into multiple subproblems, iteratively updating the unknown parameters with closed-form solutions. Compared to the ANM-CVX algorithm, the proposed ANM-ADMM algorithm can significantly enhance computational efficiency while achieving similar estimation accuracy. The effectiveness is demonstrated by simulation results.
