Rotorcraft Micro-motion Feature Extraction Based on Multi-carrier Waveform

Multi-carrier radar has been widely studied in the fields of imaging, detection and anti-jamming. However, the properties, compensation methods and feature extraction of multi-carrier waveform under micro-motion model are rarely discussed. This paper presents a micro-motion compensation and feature extraction method for multi-carrier waveform. Particularly, we theoretically analyze the effectiveness of the proposed method in the case of stepped frequency (SF) and randomized stepped frequency (RSF) waveform. Through building the physical model of the helicopter rotor and high-precision electromagnetic simulations, it is shown that the proposed method can approximate coherently fuse echoes of different carrier frequencies and thus can accurately estimate the target micro-motion parameters.
