Research on the Digitalization of Miao Ethnic Costume Patterns Based on Processing

Miao ethnic clothing patterns, as one of the important carriers for recording and inheriting the history and culture of the Miao people, have unique ethnic characteristics and profound ethnic cultural connotations. However, with the rapid advancement of modernization, traditional lifestyles and handicrafts are encountering unprecedented challenges. Many traditional skills are gradually being lost due to a lack of successors, and the inheritance and protection of Miao ethnic clothing patterns are facing a similar crisis. Against this backdrop, the digital research and practice of Miao ethnic clothing patterns are particularly urgent and significant. This article is based on Processing programming technology, which first extracts and transforms the typical colors in the patterns of Miao ethnic clothing, and then makes innovative applications on this basis. Afterwards, edge detection technology is used to extract the structure features of the patterns in Miao ethnic clothing. Through these digital methods, the details and distinctive features of Miao ethnic clothing patterns can be studied more precisely, which also provides a reference for the digital research and innovative application of Miao ethnic clothing patterns.
