Phase-Only Null Broadening Adaptive Beamforming for Spherical Conformal Array

The phase-only adaptive null broadening algorithm plays an important role in phased array radar and communications. At present, there are few studies on this method applied to conformal arrays. In this paper, a phase-only null broadening adaptive beamforming for circularly polarized spherical array is proposed. First, the interference-plus-noise covariance matrix (INCM) is reconstructed, and then the covariance matrix taper (CMT) algorithm is used to widen null. Finally, the non-convex quadratic optimization problem is transformed into a convex optimization problem using Semi-Definite Relaxation (SDR). Simulation results demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
