Design Method for Variable Reactance Probe on Cavity Resonance- Enabled WPT

The efficiency improvement of the cavity resonance-enabled wireless power transfer (CR-WPT) system is proposed using the reactance probe (RP). In this study, an equivalent circuit of the RP in the CR-WPT system is developed, and the relationship between the insertion position and element value is evaluated to construct a design method for the RP. The proposed equivalent circuit demonstrates a high accuracy within a narrow bandwidth. Additionally, a method for estimating the element values at arbitrary positions from the data at specific insertion points is proposed. Using this estimation method, the receiving efficiency is calculated with an accuracy exceeding 80%. This proposed estimation method can be applied not only to the receiver (Rx) but also to the transmitter (Tx) and RP, making it effective for designing systems where the Rx is a moving object.
