De-coupling Techniques for DC-50 GHz Wideband Pogo-Pin Probe Card System

Pogo-pin is getting more familiar in probe card system operating at millimeter wave. This paper presents two decoupling techniques to achieve 50 GHz transmission performance only with 2.14dB loss in the multi-port pogo-pin probe card environment. Original structure of the probe card is primarily presented. And then PCB line-to-socket and pin-to-pin decoupling techniques are presented in the 1×1 port and 2×2 port respectively. The custom probe card design with the presented technique applied will be feasible in testing wide range of millimeter wave systems.
