RF Switch Linearization via Envelope Tracking

Envelope tracking (ET) linearization is, for the first time, applied to an RF switch. By feeding the envelope signal into a switch via the gate terminal, the linearization is expected due to the cancellation between two intermodulation distortion (IMD) components inside the ET switch. The linearization is experimentally confirmed with an on-state SOI MOSFET stack. A 20dB improvement in the third intermodulation (IM3) is achieved in a wide input power range. A shaping function needed for ET linearization is also extracted.
