Lean Methodology Used in Tyre Industry

This paper aims to increase curing utilization by implementing a lean methodology to reduce material loss in the tyre-building process. First, we will map all the processes and create a value stream mapping. The Lean concepts will be implemented after analyzing the VSM using Lean tools like the Kanban (Replenishment) system, standard work practice, and cycle time reduction. This will lead to a reduction in the inventory of semi-finished goods and a maximization of the flow of material. But the success of these efforts relies heavily on the effective communication channels established between inter-departments. This paper is a call to action to reduce material loss in the tire building department by implementing the Kanban system.
