Image-Based Detection of the Fineness Modulus of Manufactured Sand

With the improvement of economic levels, the quantity and scale of buildings continue to increase, enhancing the importance of manufactured sand. Fineness modulus is the most important indicator for measuring the performance of manufactured sand. However, current methods for detecting the fineness modulus are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly. To address these problems, this paper proposes a method based on an instance segmentation model in deep learning, revealing for the first time the relationship between the fineness modulus and image features, and establishes a regression model based on this relationship. Additionally, a manufactured sand fineness modulus detection system is designed in this paper, thereby achieving automated detection of the fineness modulus of manufactured sand, saving labor and reducing detection costs.
