Optimization of Marshalling Yard Operation Plan Considering Different Time Sensitivities of Freight Cars

As a core component of railway hubs, marshalling yards undertake various technical operations for the handling of train and car flows within the hub. Concentrating on the refinement of operational schemes within marshalling yards with consideration for the diverse temporal requirements of freight trains, this article underscores the importance of efficient coordination and planning. This model is solved using an improved genetic algorithm (GA). Experimental results validate the effectiveness of this approach in handling the disassembly, marshalling, and flow connection operations in marshalling yards, thereby enhancing transportation efficiency and resource utilization.
