Observer-Based Sliding Mode Control Triggered by CPS Events Under Periodic Denial of Service Attacks

This study examines the resilience of linear CPSs under periodic DoS attacks using a triggering mechanism. The model and assumptions are first outlined, followed by a communication strategy designed to reduce network traffic. Details of the DoS attack model, including attack and dormancy periods, are presented. A state observer and sliding mode controller are developed to counteract DoS effects. Using stability proof techniques, the system's asymptotic stability and performance are demonstrated. Key steps for controller design and stability analysis are provided. The triggering mechanism is also analyzed to confirm the absence of Zeno behavior in practical scenarios, ensuring the strategy's feasibility and reliability.
