Application of Cloud-Edge Based Digital Twin in Robotic Arm Scanning of Aircraft Fuselage Panels

This paper investigates the Industry 4.0 upgrade of the aircraft fuselage panel workstation. Faced with diverse computational and transmission requirements of various business data at the workstation, this study proposes a combined cloud-edge transmission and computing architecture. Additionally, the research includes the planning of viewpoints for robotic scanning of aircraft fuselage panels and introduces a predetermined viewpoint trajectory method based on digital twin technology, effectively addressing the issues related to scanning quality. The practical application at this workstation has significantly enhanced both the scanning quality of the aircraft fuselage panels and the data processing capabilities.
