Research on Improving the Accuracy of Force Sensor Through Hole Array Design

With the rapid development of modern industrial automation and intelligence, the demand for higher precision in force sensors has steadily increased. This paper addresses the issue of insufficient accuracy in traditional resistive strain gauge sensors by proposing a novel hole array sensor structure designed to enhance stress concentration effects, thereby improving force measurement accuracy. By conducting a theoretical analysis of the stress distribution on the surface of the hole-containing structure, a hole array structure was developed to effectively increase stress concentration. Comparative experiments were conducted to evaluate the differences in force measurement performance between sensors with and without the hole array structure. The experimental results show that the newly designed sensor improves basic accuracy by tenfold compared to traditional sensors, with significant improvements in both nonlinearity and hysteresis by an order of magnitude.
