CPW - Fed Dual Port High Gain Circular Shaped with Elliptical Slots Patch Antenna for Wireless Communications

This paper introduces a high-performance dual port patch antenna containing a compact circular shape with elliptical slots, fed through CPW, providing low mutual coupling. An antenna was implemented using an FR4 Substrate. Creating multiple elliptical slots within the patch helps to enhance the antenna characteristics like reflection coefficient, bandwidth, and gain. To maintain isolation throughout the impedance wideband, the antenna elements are positioned with a separation of 20 mm. $\mathbf{30}\times \mathbf{40}\times \mathbf{1.61}\ \mathbf{mm}\mathbf{3}$ is the total dimensions of the DCESP antenna. The DCESP antenna resonates at 16.198 GHz, showing an impedance bandwidth of 1.78 GHz (15.294 GHz to 17.078 GHz). It shows a reflection coefficient of −43.66 dB and a gain of 7.34 dBi at resonating frequency. The observed results include a low envelope correlation coefficient (< 0.006) and a high diversity gain (> 9.96) at the resonating frequency. The measured results closely match the simulated results. The designed high-gain wideband antenna is suitable for wireless communications.
