NSSF Function in 6G Networks Based on MLOps Deployment Model

6G networks present new challenges as a platform for innovation in network management, particularly regarding the Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF) in heterogeneous environments. Current approaches have been implemented gradually, highlighting the need for new methodologies for slice selection and orchestration. The NSSF framework in 6G networks uses Intelligent Edge Computing, MLOps, and Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) in cloud-native architectures. This framework integrates RAN, Edge, and Core networks offering a scalable solution aligned with 3GPP TS 29.531 standards. It’s design is based on divide-and-conquer models, promoting management via OPEX/CAPEX and optimizing QoS/QoE through slicing techniques. The proposed solution was tested using a combination of open-source NFV tools and continuous integration pipelines, ensuring interoperability between domains. Initial testing suggests the framework can enhance E2E orchestration in 6G networks while addressing key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI, ML, and zero-touch network management. Future work will further explore the framework’s adaptability to different use cases.
