Study on CFD Modelling and Simulation of Flow Properties of Fresh Water in the Marsh Funnel

In oil and gas industry, it is required to measure rheological properties for quality control reasons by simple and robust techniques. Marsh funnel is recognized as a widely used and reliable measuring device in different engineering disciplines. The final discharge time from the Marsh is the only measured parameter during field operation. The purpose of this article is to study the flow behavior of fresh water in marsh funnel using computational fluid dynamics. The relation of flow velocity and the height of fresh water was studied. The flow factor was calculated. And the shear stress on the wall of marsh funnel was monitored.
