Photogrammetry: Insights on 3D Model Generation

This paper delves into the core principles of photogrammetry, exploring the concepts that enable the creation of 3D object models from photographs. We provide a detailed examination of the photogrammetry workflow, with a particular focus on key stages such as data capture, point cloud generation, polygon mesh creation, and triangulation. An experimental analysis is also conducted using a real example of the lion statue in Mahabalipuram, applying the concepts that have been explored in this paper.
