Hybrid Finite Element and Waved-Based Method for Complicated Vibro-Acoustic System

Based on the basic theories of the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the Wave Based Method (WBM), the response matrix for coupled system with structural FEM, acoustic FEM, acoustic WBM is derived to predict vibro-acoustic response in middle and low frequency about the complex acoustic-structure domain. This hybrid FEM-WBM modeling approach aiming at coupled vibro-acoustic response in complex structural and acoustic area is proposed. Applicability of WBM is further expanded. A hybrid FEM- WBM numerical analysis model is established to verify the effectiveness of the hybrid method. The fine and coarse finite element models for the numerical model are established simultaneously. The frequency response curves and convergence of the three methods are compared. The results indicate that the hybrid method has shown high computational accuracy and low computational cost.
