ArchaeoBot: Design and Development of an Autonomous Robot for Detecting and Brushing Artifacts

This research aimed to design and develop ArchaeoBot, an autonomous robot for detecting and brushing artifacts. The integration of a crawler robot with a robotic arm and an attached brush and ESP32-CAM, which feeds footage into a YOLOv8 machine learning algorithm for object identification, was implemented. To assess the functionality of the robot, data was gathered qualitatively and quantitatively during the testing procedure within the sandbox. Testing showed that ArchaeoBot is effective in identifying and brushing artifacts accordingly. The overall detection accuracy and brushing position accuracy of the prototype are $\mathbf{9 1. 5 0 \%}$ and $\mathbf{9 3. 8 8 \%}$, respectively.
