A Simplified Active Vector Pre-selection Method for Direct and Modulated Predictive Torque Control with Extended Voltage Set in PMSM Drives

This paper proposes an active vector pre-selection method for reducing the computational cost of direct and modu- lated model predictive torque control (MPTC) with an extended voltage vector (VV) set using the phasor relation between the stator flux-linkage and terminal voltage vectors. The aim is to simplify the look-up table (LUT) of the VV-set used in the MPTC optimization process. Simulations and experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed method on an interior-type PMSM drive with direct and modulated MPTC implementations.
