Optimal Harmonic Mitigation Strategy for SAPFs in Regional Distribution Networks

With the development of power systems and the gradual integration of renewable energy sources, the distribution characteristics of harmonic sources have become increasingly dispersed. Traditional scheme based on active power filters are only capable of eliminating harmonics at a single point, which becomes highly costly in the context of dispersed harmonic sources. In this paper, we analyze the structural characteristics of distribution networks and the diffusion trajectories of harmonics, and propose a novel regional harmonic compensation strategy for distribution networks. By analyzing the power flow of harmonics and active power filters, we propose a compensation strategy that optimizes the harmonic distortion rate across the distribution region. The effectiveness of this strategy is validated using the IEEE 33-bus system.
