ICN/CCN Multi-View Video QoE with Cache Control Methods on a Tree Topology Network

This paper evaluates the effect of cache control methods on multi-view video transmission over ICN/CCN with a tree topology network. Routers in ICN/CCN can cache content, and the cache control method can be classified into two categories: cache decision policy and cache replacement method. We have proposed an additional control for multi-view video to cache replacement method, called “inUpdate.” “LCD with Prob” has been introduced to enhance the QoE of video streaming over ICN/CCN as a cache decision policy. In this study, we experimentally evaluate the QoE of multi-view video transmission with “inUpdate” and ”LCD with Prob.” We construct a network environment of one Producer, three Routers, and eight Consumers with Cefore. We conduct application-level QoS evaluation and QoE assessment. We then show the effectiveness of the proposed mechanisms in the environment.
